Rachel is a senior physiotherapist who graduated from the University of South Australia in 1991 and has worked predominantly in private practice. Rachel completed a Masters degree in Sports Physiotherapy in 1996 allowing her to become a Titled APA Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist.
Rachel moved to QLD where she owned her own practice, and then returned to Adelaide in 2005. She worked in private practice as well as commencing work with neurosurgeon Prof. Matthew McDonald, where in 2014 they establish a Rapid Spinal Assessment Clinic (STAT) offering comprehensive outcomes for patients with thorough assessment and management.
In over 20 years Rachel has worked extensively with sporting teams and athletes both recreational and elite. Rachel was the physiotherapist for the Opals (Australian Women’s Basketball Team) for 8 years and has represented in this role at World Championships, the 2012 London Olympic Games and the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. She has also been team physiotherapist for the U/19 Australian Women’s Basketball Team, the Townsville Fire (WNBL), the North Queensland Barras (NHL), in addition to working with the QLD Academy of Sport and other state and regional teams across a variety of sports.
Rachel’s clinical interests include management and rehabilitation of hip and groin injuries, spinal problems (including neurosurgical rehabilitation), lower limb injuries, Pilates and Orthopaedic rehabilitation. Rachel currently consults for Physioactive at The Injury Hub in Willaston.
In her spare time, she loves spending most of her time with family and being outdoors.
